1 Year

We celebrated our 1st Anniversary tonight at Fogo de Chao.  It's a Brazilian steakhouse with awesome food and even better service.

They gave us a free dessert with a "Happy Anniversary" on the plate.

And I went ahead and got a side shot with my 24 week pic for ya.

We have had an exciting year with a TON of fun adventures: Moving to Annapolis, Disney World, Boston, Cape Cod, New York City, Charleston, Baltimore, Niagara Falls, DC, DC, DC, Friends and Family in town, getting pregnant, & Jonny learning a whole new language.  Did I leave anything out?  Needless to say, we have been busy:)

I love you Jonny baby

1st Baby Shower!!!

This is my 5 month picture.  I know it's not much yet, but I'm sure little Layla will get bigger soon.
My friends Carrie and Jamie threw me a shower out here with the friends that I've made in the ward and one from work.  It was tons of fun!!  It's really cool to see little clothes and imagine them on Layla.

Below are a few of the cute things I got...

This is Carrie, whose baby is due in 1 month....I'm guessing it will be a little sooner.

And this is Jamie.  We are staying with her and her husband, Brian, and their daughter Eliza for the last month until we move back to Utah.  Thanks Brian and Jamie!

Baby Layla at 19 weeks

We had another ultrasound and these are our fun pictures!
She's saying hello in this one:

Now she's showing us her foot:

One of these is just a cute little profile and the other one somehow tells us, "it's a girl"
I don't see it!

These are just more cute profile pics, in one of them she's sucking on her fingers:

Did we mention, her name will be Layla!  We both really like that name.

Jonny's Birthday with Cafe Rio

Jonny turned 31 yesterday and we had a great day!
We both love Cafe Rio and since there is not one out here we are both dreaming of the day that we get back to Utah to have some.  So, my friend Carrie directed me to a website/blog of some girl who figured out the recipes to the sweet pork, the house dressing, rice and beans.  I tried it out last night and I must say......WOW!
Okay, so I'm going to pass along the website and if you ever feel like trying it out, we really thought it tasted just like it!
The website is:  http://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/2007/11/jared-and-i-love-cafe-rio.html
She tells you all about how to make everything.  Also, be sure and read all of the comments that people have left under each recipe....it helped me to make everything better.

Niagara Falls

We had a fun vacation this weekend at Niagara Falls.  We drove up on Friday and stayed in a hotel so that we'd have all day on Saturday to see as much as we could.
There is a constant mist from all the wind, so we wore ponchos most of the time.
This is Jonny up on the "Hurricane Tower" getting all wet.

There was one really tall tower that you could see most of the falls from......

Fall Update

Wow, I'm so bad at the week to week updates!  We had another Dr's Appointment on the 21st and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat.  That was pretty fun.  We get to find out if it's a boy or a girl in 3 short weeks!  If it's a girl, her name will be Layla.  If it's a boy.....we're still thinking on that one.  Jonny really likes Mars, which is growing on me.  I really like Kingston (King).  Names we're neutral on, but not crazy about are Andrew and Adam.  What do you think??

I decided to go ahead and take a picture even though I feel really stupid posing for a camera by myself in this position.....

This is me at almost 16 weeks.  I actually thought I would have more of a pregnant tummy by now.  My tummy was that big when I got home from my mission, so it's nothing exciting yet.

A few Q's for you mom veterans......When does my tummy get bigger?  When does all the flipping gas stop?  How am I supposed to know what I need to get?  ToysRUs would have me believe that I need to spend about $7000 to have a child.

Little Baby

Yippee there's a baby in there....I'm not just going crazy!  It was pretty fun to go see this for the first time and see it moving around a little bit.  The Doctor pointed out the heartbeat and said that everything looked normal.  So, we are happy and relieved!
